”Coastal light” with Annika Ottander. Paintings. Galley Blue, Linköping 2011

"An exiting adventure in the marine world is offered by Annika Ottander in her exhibition ” Coastal light”. Her motives are gathered from adventures onboard sailingboats accompanied by her husband around the world. Yet it is not motives with titles of specific locations, rather it is coast and harbour envirement in general that has caught her fascination. With all that it includes such as light refractions, colored contrats and lines of perspective…

This along with a great perceptiveness for nuances in the atmosphere and contrasts in nature and objects, make her compositions feel fresh and mindblowing…

Most coastal motives of Annika Ottander are lyrically very appealing and they are well composed. There is no doubt that she, during her adventures on the sailboats has sharpened her visual feel for atmospheres and nuances and on top of all is able to retail her experiences with a great distinctive skill.
